03 - Options "Administration of your website hosting service" and "Administration of your domaine names"

WHY THOSE OPTIONS?

With all other web hosting service providers that we know, the customer must take responsibility for the administration of its hosting plan and domain names.
I mean, it is for him to ensure that his domain names do not expire, the notifications sent by the Registrar -for instance for compulsory identity checks- do not remain unanswered, that his website's allocated disk space and bandwidth quotasare not exceeded, etc ...
In case of quota overage in particular, the website is simply suspended by the company providing the hosting service until the problem is resolved.

However, until now a specificity of our hosting services has always been the fact that, contrary to custom, we never suspend a site hosted with us and we ourselves were dealing seamlessly with the entire administration of the hosting plans and domain names of our clients to ensure uninterrupted service without any intervention on their part.

This service could be defined as:
"Instead of being received by you, all notifications generated by the server and/or by the registrar of your domain name is sent to an anonymous address belonging to us (something like: YourName@webinfologic.com). Thus we can respond directly to these notifications and take all necessary measure to prevent any interruption of service without having to disturb you (eg. in case of bandwidth or disk space overage, mailboxes full, domain name renewal ...).
We also receive all spam messages commonly sent to email addresses that spammers normally collect from registrars (that is a common source of spam).
Note that if necessary, you would still be charged for direct expenses (domain renewal fees, additional bandwidth or disk space, ...) incuring during each billing period and necessary to prevent a suspension of your site. "

-------------------------------------------------- -----
CURRENT SITUATION:

This default service is now converted into two distinct options that you can choose to enable or disable.

Option 1: "ADMINISTRATION OF YOUR HOSTING PLAN"

Current definition of this option:

"The notifications sent by the server come to an anonymous address belonging to us (something like: YourName@webinfologic.com): Thus we can seamlessly take actions necessary to prevent any service interruption without having to disturb you (eg. in case of bandwidth or disk space quotas overage...). Should the case arise, direct expenses incurred under this service and necessary to prevent a suspension of your site (additional disk space, bandwidth purchase, ...) will be billed together with your hosting invoice for the corresponding period. Cost:. $ 4 / month "

If you were a customer before the launch of the new "client area" and billing system, this option is already enabled by default in your account because until now that was a standard feature of all our hosting plans.

... But since the new client area is operational , we were able to configure the new automated billing system to prevent any untimely suspension of your web site:
In case of temporary disk space and/or bandwidth quota overage, the said quota will be automatically increased to cover the needs of your site rather than suspend it.
The invoice you receive at the end of the billing period will reflect these temporary increases that will be charged US $ 0004/Mb for additional bandwidth and US $ 0.06/Mb for additional disk space (formerly we received ourself the quota overage notifications and had to "manually" increase the said to avoid any interruption of service).

Therefore, from now on, the payment for this option is not so much justifiable: Its only advantage now largely derives from the fact that if you enable it, you will continue to NOT receive notifications and alerts sent by the server and will not have to decide every time whether it is more interesting for you to change hosting plan or continue to punctually pay any quota overruns. It will also prevent you, for example, from having to solve interruptions of your mail service due, for instance, to a full inbox, which still require "manual" response from your cPanel ...

If today, because of the new billing method limiting the risk of suspension of your site, you prefer to remove this option, thus reducing the cost of your website hosting, please refer to the tutorial: 03 - Enable / disable options "Administration of your hosting plan"/"Administration of your domain names".

IMPORTANT: Should you disable this option, be sure to replace the email address in your profile (page "My Details") that we were using to control your accommodation (votre-nom@webinfologic.com) by your real email address.
Conversely, if you choose to keep this option enabled, do not change the email address used in your profile, but create at least one "billing contact" using the actual email address of the person responsible for the receipt and payment of our invoices.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 2: "ADMINISTRATION OF YOUR DOMAIN NAME":

Current definition of this option:
"We manage your domain names (DNS changes, parking, redirections, locking / unlocking, transfers, renewals ...) on your behalf. Price (registrar fees not included.): US $ 1 / month. "

From your "Client area" account you can now register, renew and manage your domain names.
However the benefits of this option are the same as before the commissioning of the new billing system, and for the same reasons as for the "Administration of your hosting plan" option, which has always been a standard feature of our hosting plans until the date of implementation of the new client area.

that is why all services ordered before the opening of the new client area will find this option already turned on by default in their account.

When this option is enabled, it is we who are handling the management of your domain names the same way as we did previously to the creation of the new client area and billing system.
Therefore your domain names are not visible in your account, but a simple search (WHOIS) will allow you at any time to check that you are still the only legal owner (registrant) and administrative contact of your domain names: We never put our name as registrant for a domain name belonging to one of our customers. We only provide the management, that is, we respond to all notices from the registrar, ensure the validity of DNS information and take over the responsibility for their renewal, perform the necessary locking and unlocking and facilitate their requested transfers. To these ends, we register only as "technical contact" and "billing contact."

The other major advantage of this option is the anonymization of the email address associated with your domain names: When this option is selected, we use an email address (generally private.whois@webinfologic.com) that belongs to us for all the contacts (including yourself , the applicant and the administrative contact) recorded with the registrar. Thus, we also receive -instead of you- not only the notifications from the registrar, but also all spam messages commonly sent to email addresses that spammers are used to collect from registrars (that is one common source of spam).

The cost of this option is $ 1 per month per domain name: This amount does not include the registrar fees that will be charged at the time of the expiration date of your domain names.

However you can always choose to disable this option, in which case you will find your domain names listed again in the page "My domain names", under "My Domains" in your account and their management will be left for you to cater for under your own responsibility. Your actual email address being restored in the registrar's records, it again becomes accessible to any individual performing a "whois" search.
